JOB SUMMARY:

Sets up and operates a variety of machines and equipment simultaneously to machine aircraft parts. Predominate machine; numerical controlled mills. May be required to work with higher grade machinists while in training.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sets up and operates machines and equipment to perform a variety of machining and finishing operations.

o Requires set up and operation of numerical controlled mills, production grinders, lathes, drills, saws and other comparable machines and equipment as required.

o Requires knowledge, skill and judgement in the selection of tooling and cutters, procedures and sequence of operations, quality standards and output, and materials for machining operations.

• Selects and secures prints, tooling and cutters as required for machining operations.

• Performs deburring, blending and grinding operations as required.

• Maintains tooling, cutters and material storage areas within the profile machining cell.

• Responsible only for own work.

• Performs other related duties as required.

EDUCATION:

Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.

A vocational certificate / diploma related to CNC machining is required.

EXPERIENCE:

No experience required but must possess a vocational certificate/diploma as outlined in education.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Typical machine shop working conditions with occasional exposure to coolant and noise
