The job title will be determined based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. As a CT Imaging Scientist/Engineer, you will serve as a technical advisor on all innovation and core product technology initiatives, ensuring that new product developments and enhancements are at the forefront of the industry. Your role will involve utilizing abstract problem-solving abilities, scientific creativity, and meticulous attention to detail to develop, implement, evaluate, and apply novel CT image generation and analysis techniques for CT scanners, with a particular focus on photon counting CT.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Implement, improve, and utilize sophisticated image processing and analysis programs efficiently and robustly within the field of CT imaging.
  2. Actively participate in the development and implementation of CT image generation methods, including data corrections, image reconstruction, and image processing.
  3. Contribute to the integration of new CT scanner systems by collecting and analyzing data, writing software for data analysis, and designing experiments to test algorithms and features.
  4. Prototype advanced image processing algorithms for image reconstruction.
  5. Fine-tune image processing algorithms to enhance image quality.
  6. Collaborate with junior engineers to design effective solutions to complex problems.

Education & Experience:

  1. Ph.D. in Physics/Medical Physics or a similar discipline is required.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience in medical CT imaging.
  3. Photon counting imaging experience is highly desired.
  4. Extensive experience in the design, development, and implementation of CT scanners or similar medical equipment, with a focus on improving performance and capabilities.
  5. Experience in the operation and management of CT scanners, including data management.
  6. Strong mathematical, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  7. Proficiency in implementing, evaluating, and establishing new imaging approaches in a clinical/research environment.
  8. Thorough understanding of CT physics and associated biophysics.
  9. Strong background in Digital Signal Processing, and familiarity with Digital Image Processing is a plus.

Computer & Analytical Skills:

  1. Proficiency in programming languages such as C or C++, and MATLAB or Python.
  2. Ability to provide and perform test protocols for new and existing image quality algorithms.
