Department: Extraction


Summary of Functions:

Uses shovel to unload fruit from truck onto conveyor belt or fruit table for grading.

Grade, sort or classify fruit by size, weight, color and condition.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Unload fruit onto conveyor belt or fruit table for grading.
  • As needed grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage.
  • Discard inferior or defective products and/or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in containers for further processing.
  • Seal and fill empty juice drums as needed.

  • Notifies supervisor of unusual problems.
  • Works in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Follows health and safety guidelines. Maintain and keep work area according to cGMP.



Requirements:

Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
  • Conduct all verification activities to assure finished product comply with food safety and quality specifications.
  • Participates in the yearly review of the food safety system.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Food Safety and Quality system.
  • Responsible for Non-GMO SGS Supply Chain Standards.

Organizational Relationships:

Position reports to Production Manager. Direct reports to this position are: Production Supervisor(s).


Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish helpful.
