Position Overview:

The Spackler's role requires precision in installing and detailing all decal requirements, both inside and outside of coaches.

This individual must possess the skill to trim and apply decals according to engineering specifications, ensuring a seamless finish without air bubbles or trapped dirt. They must adeptly match decals to the unique profiles and edges of various surfaces and car designs.

What your day will look like:

  • This individual will be responsible to prep, prime, and topcoat rail car bodies.

  • Hand block and mechanical sand carshells for primer and paint.

  • Ensure surfaces are properly masked and cleaned for optimal adhesion to surfaces.

  • Safely operate hand and power tools.

  • Ability to perform general maintenance of finishing equipment.

  • Obtain certification for the operation of specific tools and equipment, such as cranes, forklifts, scissor lifts, and fall protection gear.

  • Document work orders, quality reports, and accurately record labor hours.

  • Uphold company standards for quality and workmanship.

  • Adhere to production schedules, quality standards, and allocated labor hours with minimal supervision.

  • Provide support to other Painters as required and guide them in finishing procedures and techniques.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.

What you need to be successful:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive or industrial painter

  • Basic English skills- ability to read and understand written instructions and effectively communicate verbally.

**We would be impressed if you had previous experience with applying vehicle wraps.

Starting pay - $20.00/hr. (plus shift premium - 10% for 2nd shift, 20% for 3rd shift). The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
