Reports To: Director of Buildings, Grounds, and Maintenance

Pay: $22-$28 per hour

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Location: Administrative offices at 68 State St Liberty, NY


Healthy Kids is looking for an experienced, skilled, detail-oriented, self-starter to occupy the position of Regional Maintenance Lead for the company. The position is responsible for the upkeep of Healthy Kids Programs Buildings including preventative maintenance, repairs, renovations, and on-call work.


The Maintenance Lead will align his/her scope of work with the Healthy Kids Mission while incorporating Healthy Kids Core Values as the guiding principle for all work activities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Performing Landscaping services for properties in Monticello and Liberty NY. This includes but is not limited to snow removal, mowing, mulch, salting, and general landscaping.
  • Performing preventative maintenance.
  • Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
  • Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
  • Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
  • Renovation work
  • Conducting jobs that include painting, light electrical, plumbing, HVAC, Framing, Mudding, Landscaping, and all other skills required for the maintenance and renovation of buildings and grounds
Requirements:

  • Related degree from a technical college.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance.
  • Strong organizational and follow up skills.
  • Eye for detail.
  • Professional presentation and attitude.
  • Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
  • Strong time management skills.

Education/Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in property maintenance or similar field
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Experience with making locks and setting up security cameras and internet cabling preferred
  • Experience with heavy machinery preferred
  • Experience driving box trucks preferred

Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of the organization. Ability to communicate effectively with all third-party payer representatives as well as internal staff members including program staff.


Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Employee must be able to climb a ladder, up to 30 feet. Employee must be comfortable working on a roof with proper safety equipmentSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
