Job Description

Title: Fabricator

Type: Full-time, temp to hire

Salary: $17.50 / hour

Shift: 1st shift, Monday-Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm

Position Summary:

The purpose of this position is to cut, shear, roll & form material into shape to be assembled and weld (resistance) them into final shape. The Fabricator also does some sub-assembly work as required.

Qualifications:

The ability to read blueprints and layouts.
Familiarity with resistance welding equipment and processes.
Must be able to read fractional and decimal measuring devices (tape measures); precision measuring equipment (height gage, calipers).
The ability to calculate radius and diameter is preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Follow all instructions on router.
Performs work following standardized procedures.
Grinds and finishes work.
Performs general labor tasks.
Reads and understands drawings and design documents.
Fit and assemble components accurately and thoroughly per drawing requirements.
Operates machines such as band saws, shears, rolling machines, sanders, grinders etc. to cut shape components to specified dimensions.
Willingness to cross train in other areas.
Accurately document all materials and labor hours required per project, and complete all additional paperwork as needed.
Generate suggestions for improving work processes, procedures, capabilities, etc.
Monitor work to ensure quality and look for ways to improve and promote quality.
Use equipment and materials properly while observing safety and security procedures.
Always adheres to safety rules, wearing proper PPE required for task being performed and follows all Company policies.
Ability to work shift schedule, five (5) eight-hour shifts or four (4) ten-hour shifts. With overtime as required.
Always maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
Other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience:

High School or equivalent.

Language Skills:

English fluent.

Mathematical Skills:

Basic Math – adding, subtracting fractions & decimals is required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

None required but is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Standing / walking 95%, sitting 5%.
Pushing carts throughout machine shop.
Able to lift/carry up to 50-lbs in awkward positions (above head, outreached arms, inside equipment).
Able to walk / maneuver between assigned equipment.
Able to manipulate small and complex items to measure and change tooling.
Able to balance while manipulating tooling/parts/bar stock inside machinery.
Good eyesight to be able to read small print and technical drawings.
Able to discern differences in colors and shapes.
