This position will manage, direct, supervise, and coordinate the financing, administration, maintenance, repair, acquisition, and replacement of any company vehicles. This position will also be responsible for operating a range of recreational vehicles, ensuring safe and timely transport. This role involves extensive travel. The ideal candidate will have a California non-commercial Class B license, significant driving experience, a clean driving record, and strong navigational skills. Comfort in a variety of driving conditions and settings is essential, as is the ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance and repairs.



Essential Job Functions

• Fleet Maintenance and Repair:

- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for all company vehicles.

- Coordinate regular maintenance and repairs to ensure the fleet is operating at optimal performance levels.

- Manage relationships with external service providers, including mechanics and maintenance facilities.

• Vehicle Acquisition and Disposal:

- Oversee the acquisition of new vehicles, including negotiating contracts with suppliers and managing the purchasing process.

- Develop strategies for the disposal of older vehicles, including selling, trading in, or retiring vehicles from the fleet.

• Fuel Management:

- Monitor fuel usage and implement strategies to reduce fuel costs and improve fuel efficiency.

• Driver Management:

- Recruit, train, and manage a team of drivers, ensuring they are properly licensed and trained in safety procedures.

- Monitor driver performance and conduct regular performance evaluations.

• Compliance and Safety:

- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including DOT regulations and vehicle safety requirements.

- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to minimize accidents and injuries.

• Budget Management:

- Develop and manage the fleet budget, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

- Prepare regular reports on fleet performance and financial metrics.

• Technology Integration:

- Identify and implement technology solutions to improve fleet management efficiency, such as GPS tracking systems and fleet management software.

• Vehicle Customization and Upgrades:

- Oversee special projects relating to upgrades or modifications to aesthetics and performance.

• Recreational Vehicle Driver

- Safely operate RVs of various sizes, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.

- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure proper functioning and safety.


Collateral Duties

• Participate in training sessions and workshops to improve driving skills and learn about new vehicle technology.

• Assist in vehicle maintenance tasks and coordinate with professional services for major repairs.

• Support the logistics team in planning routes and schedules.


Requirements

• California non-commercial Class B license for RVs over 25,000 pounds.

• Motorcycle license and forklift certification a plus but not necessary.

• Proven leadership experience in a similar role, preferably within the same industry.

• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead teams.

• Proven experience as an RV driver or in a similar driving role.

• Familiarity with RV maintenance and basic repair tasks.

• Strong navigational and route planning skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in automotive repair or related field is a plus.

• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks related to vehicle maintenance and setup – and to regularly sit and stand for long periods of time, occasionally climbing, balancing, stopping, crouching, crawling.

• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as travel demands.

• Commitment to safety and professionalism at all times.

• Must be comfortable around dogs and horses.
