The Machinist role might be an outstanding fit if you have:
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • US Citizenship due to government contract (required)
  • 6 months manufacturing experience, technical training, military training experience, or completion of Certified Manufacturing Specialist Program
  • 1 year of CNC machine operator experience that would include, but not limit to retooling, minor maintenance, changeovers, and first article inspection.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
What’s a typical day as a Machinist? You’ll be responsible for:
  • Use blueprints, sketches, computer-aided design (CAD) and work instructions to produce precision parts.
  • Produce parts that meet required machine output specifications while maintaining high production rates.
  • Perform precise measurements for cutting/shaping tasks.
  • Monitor machine operation, troubleshoot, and appropriately adjust inputs to correct any issues outside specified tolerances. Work on and with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Lathes/MCL (Material Control Lab) machines and/or equipment.
  • Review and understand blueprints, drawings, and/or written instructions to understand the machine output specifications
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
  • Perform basic shop math, use precision measurement instruments and metrology tools.
  • Assist in the development of other team members.
