THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania State Police have a Clerical Assistant 2 position open in our Administrative Office, Troop F in Montoursville, Pennsylvania. This position will provide clerical support to the staff at this location.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will be responsible for assigned clerical duties within the Administrative Office, Troop F, Montoursville Headquarters. You will obtain data from various reports and enter it into the Initial Crime Index computer system. Review, scan and upload attachments into the Record Management System (RMS). Maintain, update, and purge various files using numerical, alphabetical, or subject methods. You will also maintain Headquarters' reference libraries by filing new and purging obsolete directives.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $34,621 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • Two (2) years or more of clerical experience.
  • Two (2) years or more of experience multi-tasking.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of experience using SAP.
Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass criminal history and background investigations.
