JOB DESCRIPTION: Five Below is transforming the way the MP&A org works within and across individual roles and functions. The Talent Development Specialist (MP&A) will help define, build, coordinate, and support the execution of a suite of training material to support the overall MP&A transformation program and the process/ system enablement workstreams that support it.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with program and project leads to identify & prioritize learning, development, and training opportunities for the MP&A org aligned with Five Below's strategic objectives.
  • Design, develop, and implement MP&A role-specific and process-specific training curricula with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail and a strong emphasis on our merchandising, planning, and allocation organizations and collaboration among them.
  • Develop and lead training programs for MP&A talent at all levels within the organization through blended styles of instructor-led and asynchronous content across various mediums (e.g., videos, e-learning, train-the-trainer, quick reference guides, etc.).
  • Coordinate with external training providers, vendors, and subject matter experts as needed.
  • Leverage the power of storytelling and take a people-first approach to learning to create both conceptual and scenario-based training content.
  • Partner with internal business SMEs and/ or utilize content from various vendors to craft stakeholder- or role-specific material, focused on process and enabled by supporting technology.
  • Track and evaluate the results of training programs to measure the success of delivery, identify knowledge gaps, and help iterate training approaches.
  • Support the roll out of various initiatives and develop training plans and total design to ensure project success.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience designing, developing, and executing training activities & programs in a retail-focused organization.
  • 2+ years of experience working within or partnering with the buying, planning, and/or allocation functions within a retail merchandising organization.
  • Experience facilitating training programs within all levels in an organization from senior-level leaders to newly hired associates.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with various business partners and subject matter experts.
  • Proficiency in Instructional design across a wide range of training mediums, e.g., video training, instructor-led training, and e-learning.
  • Excellent public speaking and instructor-led facilitation skills.
  • Ability to operate independently and work cohesively with cross-functional departments in a highly collaborative and team-oriented environment.
  • Aptitude to work with a high degree of flexibility in an ever-growing and evolving environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and well organized to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience designing retail merchandising-specific training & development programs.
Preferred:
  • Understanding of retail management systems.
  • Formal education and/or certification in instructional design.
