What Were Looking For: Loews Atlanta Hotel seeks a dynamic Catering & Event Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit. This role is responsible for booking and servicing Catering & Event business in order to meet and exceed revenue goals. The Catering & Event Manager will touch each part of the Catering Sales cycle, including lead generation and response, growing existing business and prospecting new business, as well as ensuring that contracted events are executed to planned specifications, providing total guest satisfaction and seeking repeat business. This role will also be responsible for planning and servicing small group and short-term bookings.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Promptly reply to incoming Catering leads

  • Actively prospect new Catering business seeking to make connections and generate revenue

  • Conduct Site Visits to support in converting business

  • Plan, coordinate and service all booked Catering events

  • Work with the Director of Meetings and Events to implement annual Catering sales strategy, including special promotions to grow specific segments, sales blitzes, etc.

  • Partner with Brand and PR Team to maintain and optimize 3rd party website presence Block space effectively in Delphi to maximize potential revenues, following business review and space release policies on property

  • Partner with Culinary and F&B Team on customized menu options

  • Distribute all necessary documents, including Banquet Event Orders and resumes, to all appropriate hotel departments to facilitate efficient operations

  • Schedule and coordinates pre-convention and post-convention meetings when required

  • Discuss groups plans for future events, encouraging rebooking

  • Responsible for soliciting clients for feedback on Meeting Planner Survey

  • Partners with Financial Service Center to ensure all aspects of credit and billing process are fulfilled

  • Review all assigned group files, including contracts and addenda for accuracy.

  • Lead client correspondence, including facilitating all client communication and introduction to operational and vendor partners

  • Build client relationships through the maintenance of consistent, professional communication and support

  • Outline all details of convention events in the form of Banquet Event Orders and other reports to provide timely information to hotel departments regarding set-up, purchasing, and scheduling needs

  • Communicate all event details, deadlines, and key documents to clients, obtain approvals and ensure client understanding of event planning process

  • Partner with and advocate for group reservation desk and group credit and billing departments regarding receipt and input of all group reservation and payment needs

  • Prepare impactful group resumes containing all relevant event information needed for successful operational execution

  • Distribute accurate and thoroughly detailed Banquet Event Orders and group resumes by established deadlines to appropriate hotel departments

  • Determine event needs for pre-convention and other internal or guest facing planning meetings for all assigned groups, then coordinate and lead those meetings

  • Maintain accuracy of booking information in Delphi, including blocking of space, food & beverage function details, attachment of signed key event support documents

  • Accurately forecast and report out on group food and beverage spend

  • Oversee group room block performance, and report out on rooms utilization

  • Drive incremental banquet food and beverage and room rental revenue to achieve department budget goals

  • Attend all relevant hotel meetings and presents where appropriate, including department, staff, resume review, and banquet event order meetings

  • Other duties as assigned

Your Experience Includes:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in Catering Sales or Event Management, in full-service hotel environment

  • Knowledge of hotel operational departments

  • Must be able to partner effectively with clients, guests, and all levels of hotel staff and management

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Delphi experience preferred; Diagramming software experience preferred

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed
