The position is a temp-to-hire opportunity and is 100% remote.
Responsibilities:
* Perform insurance eligibility and benefit verification
* Research and resolve rejected and denied claims
* Resolve un-postables, missing remit or payment
* Work an aging report, calling or using online payer portal
* Complete & submit EDI, EFT & ERA Enrollments
* Updating providers credentialing status in Athena
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience with Athena Health billing system required.
* Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in medical billing physician services.
* Minimum of 4 years of insurance verification or patient registration experience.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience of setting up EDI, EFT & ERAs. Credentialing experience is a plus but not required.
* Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, HCPC, and Modifier codes
* In-depth knowledge of Medicare billing guidelines and industry best practices
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Work Hours:
* Set schedule between the hours of 7:30 am to 5:30 in your time zone with an hour or half hour lunch.
