Job Purpose:Reporting to the Head Coach, the Associate Head Coach assists with all matters related to Winthrop’s Division 1 Men’s Basketball program.
Job Summary:- Teaches fundamentals, skill development and position techniques.
- Analyzes and breaks down film and scouting reports of student-athletes and opponents.
- Identifies and recruits Division I student-athletes.
- Ensures compliance with university, Big South and NCAA rules and regulations. Assists with fundraising and public relations activities to promote the program.
- Assists with game strategy and practice planning and coordination.
- Assists with scheduling.
- Monitors the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 10 years of men’s basketball coaching experience.
- Expert knowledge of all aspects of men’s basketball, including offensive and defensive strategies and techniques.
- Strong understanding of NCAA Division I compliance rules and their application.
- Ability to train and mentor student-athletes.
- Ability to pass the NCAA recruiting test.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff, student-athletes and coaches from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
