Day (United States of America)Under general supervision of the Radiologist, performs a wide variety of Fluoroscopic procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Performs a wide variety of Fluoroscopic GI/GU and MSK procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
  • Presents images of fluoroscopic examinations for interpretations and dictates preliminary result for Attending Radiologist to finalize.
  • Assists Attending Radiologist in the training of Radiology Residents during Fluoroscopic rotation.
  • Practices established radiation protection and safety protocols for self, staff and patients with 100% accuracy.
  • Practices ALARA (As low as reasonably achievable) in the fluoroscopic suite consistent with NRC and DPH guidelines.
  • Instructs Technologists and Fluoro Aides assisting with examinations/procedures.
  • Participate in interventional procedures.
  • Follows up chart review on ABN.
  • Answers and transfers all incoming telephone calls in a manner that is consistent with Lahey Clinic guidelines. If colleague has assigned voice mailbox, sets up and maintains it in accordance with Lahey Clinic guidelines.
  • Handles confidential information in strict conformance with department and Clinic policy.
  • Keeps current on both department and Clinic activities by reviewing various communications and literature that include staff meeting minutes, Spectrum, staff assemblies, etc.

  • Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment.
  • Demonstrates a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and consistently adheres to Customer Service standards.
  • Participates in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
  • Participates in and successfully completes Mandatory Education. § Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduate of a recognized RPA (CBPA) or RRA (ARRT) program
  • Graduate of a (ARRT) recognized Radiologic Technologist program

Licensure, Certification, Registration:

  • Both the RPA and RRA will hold a National Registered Radiologic Technologist certification”RTR” (ARRT) in good standing.
  • Both the RPA and RRA will hold a Massachusetts Registered Radiologic Technologist certification ”RTR” (Mass Radiation Control Board) in good standing.
  • Both the RPA and RRA will hold a Massachusetts state license for advanced practice (both are recognized by the State Radiation Control Board as Radiologist Assistants).
  • The RPA will hold a national certification (CBRPA) and be in good standing.
  • The RRA will hold a national certification (ARRT) and be in good standing.
  • ACLS Required

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards.
  • Demonstrates good communication skills
  • Experience performing GI/GU & MSK exams/procedures

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of experience required
