Location: Avamere St Helens, 2400 Gable Road, St Helens, OR 97051

The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare and ensure that high quality food service is provided at all times.

Our residents’ lives are enhanced when they choose Avamere at Hillsboro. They hand their worries over to our helpful, caring staff. We have many services to assist in their well-being including personalized care, fitness classes, housekeeping, transportation, engaging activities, and more. We keep our resident’s mind and body active during many engaging activities, including annual art shows, cooking and baking activities, the gardening club, and more. They can fill their day with other amenities tailored just for them, including visiting a family member or running errands with our in-house transportation, enjoying a meal restaurant-style in our dining area, or getting a new do in our on-site beauty salon.

Responsibilities

  • Serve meals that are palatable, appetizing in appearance and in accordance with established portion control procedures on a timely basis
  • Inspect diet trays; work with the facility dietician and process diet change received from Nursing Services
  • Coordinate food service with other departments
  • Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available
  • Ensure that menus are maintained and reviewed prior to preparation of food
  • Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High-School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in Assisted Living or other related Health Care Community
  • Must have a food handlers’ card
  • Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities
  • Must be knowledgeable of food preparation procedures
  • Must have knowledge of sanitation and food safety procedures and rules
