Summary:

VAL-CO a leader in commercial poultry, egg, and swine production equipment, specializing in world-famous poultry watering and feeding systems, is currently looking for an Engineering Intern in the Coldwater, Ohio facility.

The Engineer Intern will be a temporary position, working approximately 3 months, first shift hours 7am- 3:30pm. The Engineering Intern will report to the Senior Product Engineer.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the assembly and testing of Engineering prototypes both in the Engineering lab and in the field.
  • Using hand and power tools to assist with the assembly of new products currently under development.
  • Analyzing components and assemblies to address manufacturing and quality issues.
  • Working with Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineers to improve processes.
  • Sketching, modeling, and drawing to develop system, assembly, and component designs.
  • Creating and revising drawing to current VAL-CO Engineering Standards.
  • All other reasonable duties assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in post-high school Engineering or related program.
  • Ability to understand and interpret Engineering drawings.
  • Preference for understanding of proper drafting procedures.
  • Preference for proficiency with at least one design software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
  • Possess demonstrated practical mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Possess excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, blueprint or sketch form.
  • Self-Starter, capable of working closely with multiple internal customers.

Starting Pay- $18/hr.
