Assistant Controller – Construction

As the Assistant Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our company. You will be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with required regulations. Additionally, you will provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, helping to drive informed decision-making and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data
• Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to support strategic planning and decision-making
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable and payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions
• Monitor cash flow, and banking relationships to optimize cash management
• Coordinate annual financial audits and tax filings, liaising with external auditors and tax advisors
• Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve financial performance
• Collaborate with department heads to develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to measure business performance
• Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance, in the CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
• Proficiency in ERP accounting software like Vista Point and excellent MS Excel skills
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity
