JOB SUMMARY

The Production Planner improves the production and distribution of manufacturing processes and workflow. In addition, lead planning and scheduling various projects workloads. Follow work tickets through the plan to ensure all customer needs are met.

REPORTING TO

General Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacturing.
  • Draws up master schedules to establish timelines to each operation to meet shipping dates according to the customer orders and forecasts.
  • Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data and perform calculations to determine manufacturing process, tools, and employee needs.
  • Plan and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Identifies and troubleshoots production issues or bottlenecks that impact plant capacity.
  • Coordinates with internal stakeholders like production, engineering, sales, and purchasing to understand and develop current and forecasted plans.
  • Prepares and utilizes manufacturing data and reports to drive key insights into efficiency, production rate, and other performance metrics and identifies areas where improvements can be implemented.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions


SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, ERP Systems. Visual System a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Manufacturing operation processes knowledge is required.


EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline in manufacturing or supply chain.
  • 4-6 years of experience in scheduling/planning roles.
  • Experience scheduling/planning in a high-volume CNC manufacturing environment preferred.
