Gibbs & Cox, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos and one of the nation's leading independent Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering and Design firms is hiring a Senior Marine Engineer. This position reports to the Gibbs & Cox Program Manager for the PMS 400D engineering and administrative support contract, with a focus on Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) Systems and Flight Upgrades.For this position we will consider a full time or part time hire.  This will also be a hybrid remote position and individual will be required to work 2-3 days per week onsite at one of the following locations : Washington DC, Bath ME or Pascagoula MS.  Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide technical analysis and expertise on engineering issues. This includes evaluating all systems and sub-systems to be integrated into DDG 51 Class ships with a focus on Flight Upgrade SupportOrganize and lead discussions among peers, government customers, and shipbuilders regarding equipment issuesCommunicating technical principles directly to clientsAssist junior and mid-level engineers with technical research and presentation developmentPrepare technical summaries of meetings for the customerPerform in-depth reviews into requirements and functionality to validate proposed design changes and investigate issuesSupport program reviews and ship trialsBasic QualificationsU.S. Citizenship is requiredMust be able to obtain a security clearanceB.S. Degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Marine Engineering or a Related Field15 Plus (+) Years of experience and demonstrated knowledge of US Navy Shipbuilding processes and procedures, shipboard (HM&E) SystemsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency in standard software e.g.: AutoCAD, Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelOutstanding oral, written, and presentation SkillsUp to 10% travel requiredPreferred Qualifications5 Plus (+) Years of Experience with DDG-51 preferredU.S. Navy experience is preferredKnowledge of MIL Standards and Specifications is preferredOriginal Posting Date:2024-04-16While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range:Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
