Nurse Practitioner Needed at Inpatient Mental Health Facility - Minnesota

Location: Bemidji, MN

Job Type: Full-time

Shifts: 8-hour shifts, Shift times vary

Hours: 40 hours per week

Qualifications:

• Completion of a masters, postmasters, or doctorate from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
• Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice
• Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances
• Certified Psychiatric & Mental Health (PMHNP-BC)

Responsibilities:

• Obtain a thorough medical history from patients and perform examinations or assessments to determine patient needs
• Analyze and interpret information collected from patients, medical records, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses
• Acknowledge and demonstrate the importance of care coordination and navigation by rounding on patients
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and work independently to provide care
• Formulate treatment plans and prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legally authorized
• Maintain complete and detailed records of patients' healthcare plans and prognoses in a timely manner
• Make necessary healthcare referrals
• Provide patients with information needed to promote health, reduce risk factors, or prevent disease or disability
• Counsel patients and family members about self-management, prevention, and treatment plans tailored to their individual circumstances
