Accounts Payable Clerk

Robert Half is trying to fill an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk position with an organization that offers a stimulating work environment among a team of experienced, motivated professionals. Attending to the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department, this role works closely with and reports to the Accounting Manager. The primary focus of this role is matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. Based out of the Jackson, Michigan area, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a short-term contract / contract to permanent opening.

Your responsibilities in this role

- Open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis

- Provide support to internal business partners

- Handle the administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department

- Carry out additional tasks as assigned

- Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

- Assist with internal and external audits as needed

- Accomplish full-cycle A/P

- Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies

- Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

- Strong familiarity with billing

- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

- Accounts Payable (AP) experience required

- Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

- Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

- High attention to detail
