Robert Half is currently working with a client looking for an Inventory Clerk. The Inventory Clerk will be responsible to manage orders to facilitate sales or production and keep track of goods and services. As the Inventory Clerk you will be signing off on shipments, counting the number of available products and placing orders for more inventory according to demand. If you are a detailed oriented inventory detail oriented with excellent math and communication skills, this is the Inventory Clerk position for you!
Your responsibilities in this role
- Placing inventory orders for vendors and suppliers and then securing shipment arrival times
- Managing document discrepancies
- Reporting discrepancies between physical counts and computer records
- Comparing costs from different vendors after obtaining estimates
- Classifying and counting items
- Spending time collaborating with the inventory analyst and purchasing manager
- Control inventory by stocking and cataloging products
- Data entry duties- Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
- 1+ years' experience in retail and/or inventory sector is preferred
- High attention to detail is critical, as well as problem solving skills
- Knowledge of the range of company products and services
- Mathematical and analytical skills
- Experience using inventory computer programs to update counts and compile reports, such as spreadsheets
- High school diploma or equivalent
