Accounts Receivable Clerk

The Accounts Receivable Clerk role, based in the Fort Wayne, Indiana region, is a permanent position. Candidates who can enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging reports, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, and update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, will be preferred for this position.

Key responsibilities

- Work with clients to solve payment issues; set up payment plans as needed

- Handle payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP

- Validate documents and codes

- Follow standard procedures to execute general accounting tasks

- Post and balance financial data in various ledgers to reconcile bank accounts

- Supply shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stake holders with information as requested

- Ensure the mission, values, and culture of the organization are supported, conveyed and reinforced- Strong attention to detail

- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field

- Established analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy

- ERP system experience

- Relevant experience in accounts receivable

- Customer pricing experience

- Audit Activities experience preferred

- Customer master data experience

- Strong familiarity with Cash Balance

- Proven knowledge of SAP

- Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Excel

- Solid understanding of customer invoices
