Job Description
Machinists are responsible for the manufacturing of parts for prototypes, spare parts, production parts, and repair through the use of machining equipment. They work in close contact with engineers in the development and manufacture of prototypes. They produce spare parts for equipment that has already been released to production and manufacture new parts for project builds of production systems. Machinists are on call for emergency repair and equipment breakdowns.
- Hourly Rate: $25 - $35 per hour depending on experience

Job Responsibilities:
The following job responsibilities and tasks are designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by associates within this job family. - Check part dimensions through the use of micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments
- Assess the situation on emergency jobs, determine a solution, and repair or make parts immediately.
- Manufacture parts to specifications using complex shop calculations. Determine operating methods and sequences.
- Lay out, set up, and fabricate precision parts and fixtures. Give technical advice to other internal departments and design, create, and/or repair plant equipment, mechanical pumps, blowers, and large equipment.
- Maintain and repair departmental equipment and clean work area.
- Manufacture prototypes while working with designers and engineers in the developmental stages.
- Program and operate numerically-controlled equipment and operate manual mills, lathes, drill presses, saws and grinders to manufacture parts to specifications.
- Use a variety of hand tools, measuring tools, and equipment to manufacture parts to specifications.
- Work from blueprints, rough sketches, and/or verbal instructions to fabricate a variety of complex machined and/or fabricated components.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Post-secondary education, preferably Journeyman Machinist status
- 3 years related work experience; preferred 8+ years related experience
