Accounting Clerk

Robert Half is in need of an Accounting Clerk for a company in the Non-Profit industry who is experienced in supporting a department. The Accounting Clerk obligations will consist of matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). Major responsibilities

- Arrange documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes

- Assist Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance

- Put together statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources

- Publish financial information to journals and ledgers

- Companywide accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

- Support Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing

- Square up discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work

- Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

- Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)

- ADP - Payroll experience preferred

- Excel Formulas experience

- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is a plus

- Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data

- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
