Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team in Confluence, PA. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. This is a contract position, offering the opportunity to work with a supportive team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of students.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, in collaboration with parents/guardians, general education teachers, and other school staff.
• Provide direct instruction to students in small group or one-on-one settings, tailoring lessons to meet their unique learning needs and accommodations.
• Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to support students with various disabilities, including but not limited to learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and intellectual disabilities.
• Utilize evidence-based instructional methods and assistive technologies to enhance student learning and engagement.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to ensure academic growth and achievement.
• Collaborate with related service providers, such as speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists, to address students' additional needs.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and services provided.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education (K-12).
• Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher in a school or educational setting preferred.
• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Commitment to providing culturally responsive services and supporting the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
