Job Opportunity: Sign Language Interpreter

Location: Thermal, California

Position Type: Full-Time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM

Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation services in an educational setting
• Assist a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) teacher in the classroom daily
• Facilitate munication between students and the teacher by interpreting lectures, discussions, and other classroom activities
• Ensure effective munication access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
• Collaborate with the educational team to support student learning and inclusion
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Qualifications:

• Certification as a sign language interpreter
• Previous experience working as a sign language interpreter in an educational setting preferred
• Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Knowledge of Deaf culture and understanding of the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
• Ability to effectively interpret plex subject matter in real-time
• Strong munication and interpersonal skills

pensation:

• Pay rate: $40-45 per hour
