ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team for the current school year. As a TVI, you will be responsible for providing specialized educational services to visually impaired students across the district aroundSonora, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with visual impairments and contribute to their academic and personal growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a caseload of 4 visually impaired students throughout the district
  • Conduct re-evaluations and assessments to determine students' individual needs
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals for each student
  • Provide direct and indirect services to visually impaired students
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including parents, teachers, and related service providers, to support students' educational and developmental needs
  • Attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to discuss student progress and collaborate on appropriate accommodations and modifications
  • Adapt and modify instructional materials to meet the needs of visually impaired students
  • Utilize appropriate assistive technology and resources to enhance students' learning experience
  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary
  • Provide support and guidance to classroom teachers and other school staff on strategies and accommodations for visually impaired students

Requirements:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in the state of Texas
  • Previous experience working with visually impaired students is preferred, but new graduates are also encouraged to apply
  • Knowledge of specialized instructional strategies and assistive technology for visually impaired students
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to effectively manage a caseload and prioritize tasks
  • Commitment to providing high-quality educational services to visually impaired students
