Job Summary
You should be dancing...here, at the North Kirkland Community Center! You will feel right at home in our dance room with suspended hardwood floors and wall of mirrors. Plan and teach adult tap to an enthusiastic group of newbies and continuing students. Must possess creativity and provide a safe stimulating class environment with age-appropriate activities. Looking for an instructor with good communications skills and a love for teaching dance. Will accept and review applicants age 18 and older.
Hours of Work:
Starting as soon as possible. Instructor needed for Tuesdays between 6 - 8:30 p.m.
Plan and teach Adult Tap at the North Kirkland Community Center. Instructor must possess creativity, flexibility, and be able to provide a safe and stimulating class environment with age-appropriate group activities. Instructor must have tap experience, enjoy working with children and be able to communicate effectively with adults and children.
- Good verbal, written, and telephone communication skills are required.
- Ability to interact courteously with the public to acknowledge both compliments and complaints.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated good judgement in problem solving and responding to customer needs.
- Proficiency in standard computer software, such as Microsoft Office Suite applications Word, Excel and Outlook
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have six (6) months of related teaching experience.
- Must have or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification by start date.
- Must successfully complete a thorough background check as required by the Child/Adult Abuse Information Act.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Work is performed in a community center setting, with high levels of noise and seasonal temperature extremes. Must have ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. Must be able to walk, climb, bend, and stoop to complete tasks.
Hours of Work
Starting ASAP, Instructor needed for Tuesday evenings.
