About the Opportunity

Job Title: Wintel/System Administrator Level 1

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Wintel/System Administrator Level 1 to join our fast-growing IT team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Windows server administration along with a deep understanding of the related ecosystems and landscapes. The candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our organization's Wintel environment.

Responsibilities:

    Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and systems to ensure their high availability.
  1. Perform server and security audits, system backups and recovery, and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity.
  2. Ensure high levels of systems and infrastructure availability. Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
  3. Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  4. Work with executive team members, decision-makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
  5. Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
  6. Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  7. Provide on-call technical support after hours as needed.
  8. Keep abreast of new technologies and trends to ensure the company's Wintel systems remain secure and up-to-date.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  2. A minimum of 4 years of experience in Wintel administration, including system installation/patching, network configuration, server security, and system monitoring.
  3. Extensive experience with Windows Server environments, VMware, Active Directory, DNS, and related technologies.
  4. Excellent knowledge of server hardware, software troubleshooting, operating system, networking, and storage technologies.
  5. Strong understanding of ITIL processes.
  6. Good problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  7. Effective verbal and written communication skills for documenting processes and communicating with team members and stakeholders.

Relevant professional certifications like MCSE, MCSA, VMware VCP, or similar will be a plus.
