This client is a leading supplier of metal fastening products and technology.

Description: 
This position applies technical skills and knowledge to analyze specifications, disassemble, clean and reassemble molds and operate shop tools. The candidate will be responsible to help set up the worktable with tools needed, move molds with cranes or fork trucks, work with gauges and measuring equipment, and communicate between supervisor and production.

Schedules:
  • 1st Shift: 8:30AM-4PM Monday-Friday
Pay:
  • 1st shift: $18/hr on 1st shift

Job Duties:
  • Organize area with correct tooling, documentation, and equipment for cleaning molds.
  • Inspect molds for defects, repair or replace tools, performing test on completed tools equipment.
  • Certification as a forklift driver and overhead crane/hoist operator.
  • Adherence to planned maintenance schedules.
  • Understand specifications such as blueprints, sketchers, or verbal descriptions.
  • Visually inspect part to determine cleaning and repair requirements.
  • Set up and operate machine tools such as hand tools, ultrasonic cleaning, torque wrenches, drills, and saws.
  • Maintain good communication on progress or completion of molds to supervisor and production.
  • Verify conformance of machined parts to specifications through the use of calipers, micrometers gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, toolmakers microscope and optical comparator.
  • Keep shop and equipment clean and organized.
  • Disassemble, inspect, assemble, clean, and repair plastic injection molds.
  • Disassemble, clean, assemble, and repair slides.
  • Maintain necessary records as required by SOPs and work instructions.
  • Other associated duties.
 
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Mechanical and electrical experience that lends to cleaning and repairing injection and hot runner molds.
  • Use good of housekeeping practices.
  • Demonstrates abilities to use measuring devices.
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of process.
  • Blueprint reading and knowledge of metrics.
