Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. has a job opportunity for a full time Laundry/Galley/Fire Suppression Systems/Ventilation Electrical Technician (Engineering Technician IV) in Mayport, FL.

Summary: The Engineering Technician IV will provide mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repair, assessment, and testing of US Navy ship laundry and galley equipment, fire suppression systems, and ventilation systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for the evaluation and correction of Fleet HM&E equipment/system casualties and provide technical assistance for repairs or replacement of malfunctioning or failed components, units or subsystems.
  • Provide troubleshooting, isolation, correction, and functional testing of HM&E systems/equipment and return to fully operational condition.
  • Provide On-Site (OS) and Distance Support (DS) technical assistance for ship HM&E related equipment casualties and repairs.
  • Provide logistics support in instances where parts may be required or Allowable Parts Lists (APL) are not correct/complete.
  • Train ship's force personnel in the operation, maintenance, and logistics support of specific equipment.
  • Prepare written debriefs to Government reps as required.
  • Support and utilize current government software systems (TAAS-Info/MFOM/NMD) to track problems with associated equipment/systems and conduct analysis.
  • Perform assessments of shipboard equipment and systems as defined by ICMP, TSRA, or INSURV guidelines. Draft assessment standards as required.
  • Perform logistics support in instances where parts may be required or APLs are not correct/complete.
  • Identify changes necessary to Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs), technical manuals, drawings or other documentation.
  • Utilize TAAS-Info and Material Assessment Forms (MAFs) to document assessment findings.
  • Perform shipboard ILS validations and verifications, review logistic documentation and submit OPNAV4790/CK forms to document configuration changes, including Coordinated Shipboard Allowance List (COSAL) reviews for proper APL coverage.
  • Assist in updating ship's Current Ship's Maintenance Plan (CSMP) with validated deferrals in accordance with specified uploading procedures.
  • Assist in identifying and locating, material, and specialized tools required for routine periodic and specialized maintenance actions.


  • Use appropriate measuring equipment as required to obtain data for evaluation.
  • Interprets wiring diagrams, control schematics and plans and the ability as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to troubleshoot, analyze and provide distance support for listed equipment.
  • Observes all safety standards.
  • May require travel 25% or greater both CONUS and OCONUS.
  • May require overtime.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three years (3) of "journeyman level" experience within the last five years (5) independently or leading a team of technicians troubleshooting, repairing, or testing US Navy ship structural, mechanical, or electrical equipment/systems.
  • Documented experience utilizing workload databases such as MS Office, Navy Maintenance Database (NMD), Electronic Departure from specification ( eDFS ), and TAAS-Info.
  • Specialized mechanical and electrical experience in the assessment and oversight of repairs on US Navy ships' laundry and galley equipment, fire suppression systems, and ventilation systems.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to interpret naval engineering drawings and electrical diagrams.
  • Functional knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
  • Must currently possess an active SECRET clearance.
  • Experience with LCS class ships a plus.


ADA/Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.
  • Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
  • Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels.
  • May ride ships at sea for extended periods.


  • May require wearing a respirator.
  • Most work is performed aboard ships or in industrial conditions.
  • Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
