Official Job Title: Operations and Airspace Mission Planner
Location: Fully onsite in Hampton, VA with some Travel (less than 25% of the time)
Contract Duration: 6 Mo Contract to Hire
Schedule: Normal Business Hours
Position Summary: Operations and Airspace Planning Systems Support compiles information to help make decisions regarding military strategy. Analysts may work in the field interpreting data about enemy operations, or they may evaluate broader military processes in consulting positions. Responsibilities will include researching and modeling military systems performance and operations; developing analytical methods and tools to facilitate analyses; executing trade studies; performing data analytics & statistical analysis; and developing effective presentations that succinctly communicate results and findings.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating airspace access for RQ4/RPA Operations with FAA authorities, affected air traffic control facilities, and host nation civil/military airspace authorities.
  • Prepare background papers, briefings, staff packages, CONOPS, AFIs, and strategic planning documents including presentations.
  • Research military systems performance and operations.
  • Participate in the Global Hawk System Safety Group as ACC ops representative.
  • Assist in development of exercise requirements and objectives to ensure system capabilities are appropriately employed in each scenario.
  • Promote safe and efficient use of airspace, increasing effectiveness at all levels.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • BA/BS degree or 5 years relevant work experience in lieu of education (may be the combination of active duty, government service and/or contractor).
  • TS clearance is required.
  • Knowledge of RQ-4 system, performance, capabilities, mission planning, and concept of operations.
  • Knowledge of airspace management and air traffic control procedures

DESIRED:
  • Military rated pilot expertise in manned or unmanned aircraft.
  • Experience in reconnaissance operations, RQ4/RPA systems or operational airborne ISR mission area.
