Our Glenwood, IL location is seeking an Quality Control Technician! This role is responsible for performing quality control tests on mechanical and electrical systems integral to Nalco's pretreatment equipment and chemical dosing offerings.

What You Will Do
  • Perform hydrostatic, mechanical and electrical tests on equipment based on standard procedures and document test results
  • Troubleshoot, and potentially fix, issues that arise during testing
  • Upload, configure, debug and troubleshoot programmable logic controller (PLC) programs and related control logic on equipment
  • Use and install meters, power supplies, hoses, and other testing equipment
  • Critically evaluate quality standards
  • Interface with equipment design engineers to insure electrical, mechanical, and control system tests are sufficient
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Oversee quality testing department to ensure schedule, quality, and safety standards are met
  • Use overhead crane and safe rigging and maneuvering of loads in support of the various equipment assembly and preparation for shipment activities
  • Operate a forklift and pallet jack
  • Other duties as assigned


Position Details
  • Plant location: Glenwood, IL
  • Work week and shift: Monday-Friday 6AM - 2:30PM, OT eligible


Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3 years of experience in an equipment assembly or electrical-related assignment
  • 3 years of experience working on industrial equipment utilizing computerized (PLC) control systems to perform process operations
  • Able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Able to wire simple circuitry and perform point-to-point terminations
  • Proficient with hand/power tools and basic size/weight measuring devices
  • Experience with low voltage AC (
  • Basic computer skills (examples: data entry, Internet/e-mail, etc.)
  • No Immigration Sponsorship available for this opportunity


Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam
  • Able to work in a shop environment (dust, noise, odors)


Preferred Qualifications:
  • prior experience in a quality control related assignment
  • NFPA 70E certification within the last five years
  • Skilled trade degree or certification (Industrial Electrician training)
  • Experience operating water pretreatment equipment
  • Knowledge of electrical safety, electrical code requirements and common types of control equipment
  • Working knowledge and application of handheld electrical process calibration tools such as multi-meter, signal generator, and amprobe
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work independently
