About this job

The OPS Quality Inspector 2 performs in-process inspections and tests of manufactured parts and assemblies to verify conformance with established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs in-process dimensional and visual inspections of parts and subassemblies at different stages of the manufacturing process to ensure compliance to all in-process, drawing and order requirements.
  • Conducts in-process tests such as: positive material Identification tests, hardness tests, paint thickness tests, hydro tests, visual examinations of welds and others as required.
  • Performs liquid penetrant tests at the level I as required.
  • Records the results of test and inspections and fills out forms written and digitally.
  • Appropriately identifies and segregates non-conforming material and initiates a nonconforming material report per NCR procedure.

Requirements for Consideration:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Certified as an NDT Liquid Penetrant Test Inspector level I, preferably certified as level II.
  • Three years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to detect defects in products.
  • Must be able to interpret basic blueprints specifications, diagrams, and other written instructions.
  • Strong visual abilities: able to visually identify defects, annual vision examen required.
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, hardness testers, optical comparators, thickness testers, XRF analyzers and others.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
