In this position, you will be leading technical support functions for integrated motor drive solutions for ABB customers within Motion, NEMA Motors. In this role, you will be providing constructive feedback to identify opportunities for quality improvements for ABB products. Resolving customer issues through test and learn and root cause analysis. Supports the first time commissioning of customer equipment and startups.

Your responsibilities

  • Technical contribution: Works independently using solid competency in technologies, tools and methods to solve critical problems.
  • Customer and Sales: Determines offered solutions and product versions, including extent of standard and non standard solution scope to meet low to high complexity customer requirements
  • Supports technical reviews and participate in core technical meetings
  • Quality: Provides technical leadership and solutions during execution, including participation in important customer meetings
  • Coordinate technical Support to lead level 2/3 case management for resolution of technical issues
  • Drives the Quality issue resolution process, taking ownership to resolving reported issues and maintain close cross functional cooperation. Technical leadership and knowledge sharing
  • Technical leadership and knowledge sharing: Builds network internally and externally for exchange of information, best practices and lessons learned
  • Provides support and technical advice to colleagues in specific areas of expertise
  • People Leadership and Development: Actively supports technical resources in specific area of expertise
  • Processes and tools: Follows available quality standards, processes, tools and techniques
  • Ensures that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements
  • Contributes towards continuous improvements of processes and tools for engineering efficiency
  • Risk and opportunity management: Creates and executes strategies for risk and opportunity management in one's area of responsibility


Your background

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering with minimum 2 years experience working with controls, motors, drives or other electro mechanical machinery.
  • Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) experience required.
  • PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) knowledge - preferred.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical documents
  • Strong Microsoft Office/computer skills
  • Travel required up to 35%
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
