The Heat Exchanger Group is responsible for execution of product requirements (technical and all other deliverables) for heat exchangers. The group has responsibility for the products' technical requirements, cost targets, producibility and maintainability. The group has ownership of the components throughout the life cycle of the program including design, development, qualification, production, and in-service phases.

The Associate Director is the primary engineering focal for the product line. The Associate Director is expected to have strong collaboration with the Program Engineering teams and Value Stream leads. This role reports directly to the Director of Engineering and is directly responsible for the budget, schedule and manpower required to meet the product line needs. This role provides key input for engineering to support the yearly Strategic Financial Plan.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manages and leads the Heat exchanger product line strategy.
  • Develops the technical capability within the group to advance the product line technology.
  • Manages budget and funding request cycle for the product line, and responsible for meeting budget allocated and any changes throughout the year.
  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to assign resources to programs and ensure timely progress.
  • Builds and maintains internal and external customer relationships to anticipate key needs for future products.
  • This role may require travel up to 10% of the time.


Qualifications/Experience Needed:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with Heat Exchange and/or Environmental Control Systems is preferred.
  • Technical background with a demonstrated ability to build and manage teams with diverse skillsets.
  • Experience communicating at multiple levels and the ability to build customer trust.
  • Experience developing and managing engineering projects.
  • Active Security Clearance preferred.
