Senior Planner/Buyer - Full-time

Moog Defense Group is the premier motion and flow control solutions provider for markets including missiles, turreted weapons systems, military ground vehicles, military radar, Naval vessels, and human-rated space vehicles. We are seeking a Senior Planner/Buyer, who will be primarily responsible for the identification of the source of supply, for basic commodities, that will meet Moog's requirements for best value, on time delivery, and high quality. The processes used to accomplish this task must be compliant with the documented systems and procedures. This position will be dedicated to development programs.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze Bills of Material, routings, and demand. Place purchase orders or work orders for required level of product. Responsible for proper part coding and provides input to BOM structure.
• Monitor status and maintain accurate schedules within MRP. Communicate issues in a timely manner to Master Planner and/or Program Manager.
• Works directly with the internal supply chain to optimize workflow. Monitor and adjusts schedules regularly through capacity constrained areas.
• Work through corporate purchasing and expediting to optimize product flow through the majority of suppliers. For products or processes not covered by corporate purchasing, direct interface with suppliers will be required.
• Process requisitions, which includes sourcing, cost and price analysis, and purchase order generation. Issue orders where pricing is established under a pricing agreement or a Long-Term Agreement.
• Review past due purchase order reports and contact suppliers to address overdue purchase orders.
• Develop knowledge for the assigned commodities that covers the market pricing, market make up, trends in the market, and alternative markets or technologies.
• Manage open orders to maintain the needed delivery of goods and services.
• Provide pricing information that will be used to support cost proposals being made to Moog customers.
• Set up new suppliers and prepare purchase order compliance documentation, reporting on progress.
• Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements - Expected to suggest and lead implementation.
• Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in business or Engineering with Two years as a Planner / Buyer.
• OR an associate degree in business or engineering, with Two years as a Planner / Buyer and Five additional years related experience in materials or sourcing.
• Proved understanding of procurement practices.
• Proven understanding and communicating the technical aspects of the goods and services procured.
• Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal / organizational skills and be able to demonstrate an ability to understand complex regulations/procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, energetic and self-starter.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization and experience in working with external constituencies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business need.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• APICS Certification in Purchasing, Production, and Inventory Control.
• Certification(s) in purchasing, supply chain management, and/or production and inventory control or equivalent job experience.
• Experience in a matrix-based organization.

The base pay range for this opportunity is $60,736. - $108,805. per year. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
