Ampco Pumps is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications.

Under the direction of the Materials Manager, the Scheduler/Buyer reviews material requirements for actual and forecasted sales, plans and purchases from the listed supplier for that commodity, and analyzes material requirements to determine when materials will be needed, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Run ERP status reports and analyze for adequate levels of materials to meet projected production needs.
  • Review all purchase requisitions and order accordingly, ensuring the purchase of the highest quality materials, parts, components, or services at the most cost effective pricing, while meeting delivery requirements.
  • Process purchase orders and/or Kanban orders and order needed materials to meet production requirements.
  • Release work orders for the shop to process.
  • Check on materials and parts shortages and expedite as needed.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for materials and parts, ensuring the ability to meet production requirements and quality standards. Assist Procurement Specialist with new suppliers as required.
  • Record supplier non-conformances in the central database and follow appropriate corrective actions per departmental procedures. Discuss and/or share results with team and key suppliers on a regular basis.
  • Assist in processing returns for defective materials and parts, and expedite replacement materials and parts.
  • Process inventory transactions and adjustments according to departmental procedures
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc. and enter all required data accurately into the computerized system
  • Assist in reconciling invoices and receiving transaction discrepancies.
  • Adjust the production/work schedules as needed to reflect availability of materials or parts, and customer priorities.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations while maintaining departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

Education/Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related major or an associate degree with job related experience.
