POSITION OVERVIEW

Prince George's Christian Academy is seeking full-time preschool teachers and teacher aides to join our team. We provide quality educational services and developmentally appropriate practices to children aged two through four years old. Our Christ-centered approach aims to meet the holistic needs of each child as we prepare them for future success. We operate a curriculum-based program during the academic school year, blending the Abeka Christian curriculum with our enhanced preschool curriculum. This position reports to the Preschool Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach and supervise preschool-aged students during program operation.
• Ensure all equipment is secured at the end of the program day.
• Assist with program activities as assigned by the Preschool Director.
• Ensure compliance with program rules and regulations.
• Maintain daily attendance records and generate reports as required.
• Participate in general program planning and staff training sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Membership, in good standing, of a local Bible-believing church, or willingness to become a member.
• Passion for education and dedication to serving the Christian community.
• Agreement with our Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education.
• Commitment to being a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions.
• College degree strongly preferred.
• Completion of a 90 Hours Early Childhood Development Curriculum Course preferred.
• Completion of a nine-hour communication training course.
• Experience in a childcare setting preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry children and equipment, up to a minimum of 40lbs.
• Willingness to adapt the program and curriculum to meet individual children's needs.
• Motivation to learn and grow in an educational environment.
• Excellent communication skills with students, peers, and parents.
• Ability to work well in a team and support the lead teacher effectively.
• Genuine love for children and enjoyment in working with them.
• Strong ability to supervise children and team members.
• Gracious, Christ-like demeanor, especially in demanding situations.
• Willingness to submit to authorities.
