Accouting Technician

Job Title: Accounting Technician

Summary: The Accounting Technician will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of financial processes within the company. With a primary focus on accounts payable and receivable, payroll and inventory, this position demands accuracy, attention to detail and a solid grasp of accounting principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review accounts payable invoices, assign vendor numbers and ensure correct use of accounting codes.
• Enter vendor information into the accounting software system and verify the accuracy of invoice data.
• Process payments to vendors following approval procedures.
• Execute routine monthly payments as authorized.
• Handle vendor inquiries by performing thorough account research.
• Process payroll activities and perform associated tasks diligently.
• Generate monthly payroll reports for management review.
• Prepare monthly inventory control reports to maintain accurate records.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

• Basic understanding of accounting practices and procedures.
• Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
• Typing skills of at least 30 words per minute.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks or similar software.
• Previous experience with accounting software is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required, with some coursework in accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience in accounting or finance (preferred).
• Must be bilingual with strong English and Spanish language skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional accounting or finance experience beyond the minimum requirement.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Additional training in accounting techniques or professional development courses.
• Previous experience in companies working on federal contracts, preferably in the IT services sector.
