Substance Abuse Counselor

Company Overview:

Davis Archway, a leading healthcare provider in the Emlenton area, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. We are committed to providing high-quality care and support to individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders, helping them achieve lasting recovery and improved overall well-being.

Position Overview:

As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will be responsible for providing counseling services to individuals and groups affected by substance abuse disorders. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and facilitate therapy sessions aimed at addressing the unique needs of each client. Additionally, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients throughout their recovery journey.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' substance abuse history, mental health status, and treatment needs.

- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, setting achievable goals for recovery and rehabilitation.

- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.

- Monitor clients' progress in treatment, regularly reassessing their needs and modifying treatment plans as necessary.

- Provide education and support to clients' families, helping them understand the dynamics of addiction and the recovery process.

- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, psychiatrists, and social workers, to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment for clients.

- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.

- Certification or State licensure as a Substance Abuse Counselor (LPC, LCSW, LCADC, etc.) preferred.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the field of substance abuse counseling, preferably in a clinical setting.

- Strong understanding of addiction theory, counseling techniques, and treatment modalities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with clients.

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines governing the practice of substance abuse counseling.

- Competitive salary commensurate with experience (range $50,000-$70,000)
