JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Parts Expediter

Department: Powerplant Division

Reports to: Materials Supervisor

Position Description:

Responsible for routing and tracking of company/customer engine parts through the production process

  • Allocating components for repair/overhaul (vendor)
  • Routing engine parts to the appropriate department for in-house repair.
  • Tracking and maintaining a working log for all removed parts, tracking accomplished by work order and locations.
  • Informing management of any parts requirements that may cause delays in production processes.
  • Communicating with the Quality Control Department through the inspection process so as to avoid delays.
  • Expediting any project on the production floor where necessary.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Hold a valid US driver’s license.
  • Knowledgeable of computer systems such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Available for flexible hours and weekends
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must have good customer service skills.
  • Knowledgeable of common warehouse practices a plus

Language Skills:

  • Must have the ability to read, write and understand spoken English.
  • Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must have the ability to understand verbal and written instructions.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed primarily in a shop environment and maintenance setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
