Position Summary:

  • Under the supervision of the Table Games Manager, direct the daily operation of assigned games. Assist dealers during their shift and ensure compliance with Minimum Internal Control Standards on their assigned games. Rate all players and inform the Manager of any unusual play.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct Table Games operations for game assignment and ensure games are operated in accordance with the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe`s (SCIT) Minimum Internal Control Standards and department policies and procedures.
  • Supervise all dealers in the pit and assist Managers in applying appropriate disciplinary action as prescribed in the SECR handbook, department policies and procedures, or the SCIT Minimum Internal Control Standards.
  • Schedule and set up dealer rotations for assigned pit area.
  • Conduct performance reviews of assigned dealers when instructed to do so by a Manager.
  • Coordinate with the Table Games Senior Manager and Manager to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained.
  • Consult with the Manager to adjust game minimums based upon volume levels to ensure maximum profitability in the pit.
  • Change cards, dice, roulette balls to maintain game integrity.
  • Advise the Manager of internal control violations of a material matter has occurred.
  • Provide win/loss estimates by game and note any unusual occurrences in player ratings.
  • Rate all players.
  • Communicate effectively with dealers and supervisory management on a daily basis.
  • Provide excellent guest service and be attentive to guests needs.
  • Assist in dealing the games that they supervise when needed.
  • Retrieve players club cards for new and existing guests from SECR Players Club.
  • Assist the Manager in the completion of the pit estimated win report.
  • Responsible for issuing comps at the appropriate level.
  • Keep tables and areas around and inside the pit clean and presentable; inform management of any safety issues.
  • Track the play of all players for Title-31 purposes and complete the necessary paperwork required by law.
  • Ensure that gaming equipment is in suitable condition for use on live gaming tables.
  • Address guest complaints and resolve situations in a professional, equitable manner.
  • Remain a leader and role model whose actions clearly demonstrate those behaviors expected of employees
  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.
  • Ability to deal when assigned by management.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:

  • Contact with organizational management personnel to communicate guests` needs and offer the high level of service expected at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort.
  • Contact with Table Games management and fellow Supervisors on a daily basis regarding operational needs and issues.
  • Contact with Gaming Commission regarding gaming codes and regulations.
  • Contact with guests when handling disputes and other guest service related issues.
  • Contact with Table Games Dealers assigned to their section regarding limits, break rotation, game and rule changes and all other pertinent information.
  • Contact with Surveillance for the purpose of reviewing past action on the gaming tables for conflict resolution and to maintain the integrity of the games. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of computer systems related to casino player ratings.
  • Knowledge and full understanding of Minimum Internal Control Standards and department policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of public relations and customer service.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various table games.
  • Knowledge in card games dealing and skill in dealing Table Games.
  • Skills in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Skill in mathematics to include the ability to calculate figures, amounts, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
  • Ability to make quick decisions based on game results in stressful situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to periodically write required reports and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to effectively respond to questions from management, dealers, guests, and the general public.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent repetitive use of hands, wrists, fingers, shoulders and arms associated with table games.
  • Frequent walking throughout Casino and Resort.
  • Frequent standing and sitting at game tables for extended period of time.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Frequent bend, twist, stoop, grasp, reach, push and pull while working table games or supervising.
  • Ability to determine colors, shapes, numbers, letters and symbols both up close and from a distance through natural or corrective vision.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public. Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino and constant machine and crowd noise.
  • May encounter and deal with intoxicated and/or belligerent guests.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of two years casino dealing experience for each game in which certificates are possessed.
  • Level 1 Supervisor must possess certifications in all games offered at SECR with the exception of Craps.
  • Level 2 Supervisor must be certified in Craps.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.

License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

  • Must have and maintain a certificate of proficiency or documented experience as to assigned game.
  • Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
