Skills Required:
  • 5 - 7 years of relevant work experience in safety, environmental, and risk management and compliance
  • 5 years in ISO knowledge and certification accomplishments.
  • 5 years of experience in quality control / quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement QHSE policies and procedures
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards, including OSHA and other relevant guidelines
  • OSHA Certified
  • Experience working in an ISO environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools
  • Experience in a gas turbine or industrial repair business a Plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences (or other HSE-related degree).
Job Summary: With HSE oversight across three (3) Houston locations, the HSE and Quality Specialist will lead all efforts in creating a
safe work environment that protects employees, property and the environment while maintaining business continuity.
Responsibilities include providing technical safety expertise to employees, developing corporate health, safety, and
environmental training program requirements, and monitoring health, safety, environmental and quality management
practices to ensure the Company is compliant with all applicable local, state, and federal HSE laws, rules, regulations, and
ISO requirements.

Job Description:
  • Serve as the primary advisor and subject matter expert to management and employees regarding HSE matters,
    issues and compliance efforts.
  • Review and analyze injury, illness, and non-injury incident reports as well as ensure appropriate follow up, including reporting required by law and training, if required by law and/or advisable by best practice.
  • Coordinate the Company’s OSHA program development, implementation, and required recordkeeping and serve
    as Company’s principal contact-person for OSHA.
  • Develop and maintain compliant and cost-effective workers’ compensation and injury prevention programs and
    work closely with HR Department.
  • Oversee and manage the development and implementation of safety, hazmat, and other Company-wide HSE-
    related procedures, programs, and policies.
  • Plan and facilitate all preventative, safety, and compliance training.
  • Handle all other departmental HSE-related activities including investigating accidents and injuries.
  • Lead efforts to ensure all locations are continuously evaluated for hazardous conditions and practices as well as
    conduct appropriate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices, and evaluating and
    assisting with municipal, state, and federal HSE compliance efforts.
  • Continually stay abreast of changes to HSE-related regulations, laws, or reporting requirements by proactively
    attending seminars, reviewing industry periodicals, and conducting research, when and as necessary.
  • Manage all third-party audits to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other federal agencies.
  • Develop the company's QHSE strategy and culture, aligning it with our core values, and play a pivotal role in
    driving the organization, growth and positive impact.
  • Conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective
    action, and implement follow up assessments.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and deploy key HSE Initiatives as well as keep key stakeholders
    apprised on matters that warrant awareness and escalation.
  • Monitor and report on QHSE performance, including tracking and analyzing metrics such as incident rates and
    quality defects to maintain facility certifications
  • Perform assessments of ISO
  • Oversee the Company’s quality management, ensuring that it conforms to ISO requirements and assisting
    management with the establishment and implementation of the Quality Policy, procedures, continual
    improvement program.
  • Schedule and prepare for annual ISO audits and correct any findings generated by the audits.
  • All other duties as assigned by your manager.
