Sow Herdsperson reports to Sow Farm Manager and is responsible for daily care, health and maintenance for all farrowing sows and piglets at designated work site.

Responsibilities:

• Feed and water sows and piglets
• Clean and maintain barns and equipment, including power washing, scrubbing, and disinfecting
• Monitor sow health and behavior, including recognizing signs of illness, injury, or distress
• Assist with farrowing and piglet care, including ensuring proper nutrition and temperature control
• Keep accurate records of sow and piglet data, including feeding, breeding, and medical records

Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Comfortable working around animals and in a barn environment
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods
