Area Sales Manager

Overview of Position:
Responsible for providing vision and leadership for the postpaid and advanced paid sales channels, including company-owned retail sales and indirect dealer/agent sales.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Sales Management:
- Build and lead the sales management teams demonstrating outstanding sales and customer service expertise.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to ensure targets are met.
- Collaborate with store managers to develop sales goals for each location to the representative level.
- Lead store-level funnel management.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the assigned area; design and implement training, strategies, policies, goals, and other resources to maximize productivity and morale.
- Identify new business opportunities and areas for growth.
- Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and motivate sales team.
- Coach sales team for personal and professional growth. This includes hands-on involvement within the retail stores, including but not limited to observations, side-by-side selling, involvement in representative-level one-on-one coaching, and role-playing sales scenarios.
- Schedule and direct regular sales meetings and events to share information, set and revise goals, and increase morale.
- Conduct regular in-store observations and store audits to ensure consistent customer and operational experiences across all locations.
- Market Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and opportunities.
- Stay informed about industry developments and changes in the market.
- Utilize market data to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Budget Management:
- Develop and manage sales budget for assigned area.
- Ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency in sales operations.
- Reporting:
- Prepare and submit regular sales reports to higher management.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on sales data.
- Build and establish relationships with internal departments.
- Responsibilities to include other duties and functions as assigned
What You Bring to the Team:
- Associates Degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of proven retail sales management experience, preferably in wireless telecommunications sales either at the carrier or major dealer level
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience with back-office systems (billing, call center, etc.)
- Progressive experience with a demonstrated track record of building and developing sales organizations
- Experience in leading sales and supporting a team of store managers and sales representatives
- Demonstrated results with sales and revenue goals, accurate inventory and expense records, and responsibility for the retail sales channel P&L
- Knowledge and experience in marketing programs and promotions
- Ability to analyze financial data and integrate it in decision making
- Keen understanding of basic business operations and the organizational levers (systems, processes, departments, functions) that drive profitable growth
- Shows emotional intelligence by effectively being aware of, controlling, and expressing one’s emotions
- Collaborator and team player
- Strong interpersonal skills to include experience building strong relationships while exercising influence skills on all levels of the organization to achieve desired results
- A relentless customer focus, ensuring the customer’s perspective is the driving force behind every decision
- Proven ability to train, support, and motivate a field-based sales team to achieve stellar results

- Excellent time management and organization skills and ability to juggle competing priorities

- Computer skills – highly proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Planner, etc.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to meet physical requirements of bending, stooping, lifting, sitting, and standing. Ability to use computer/keyboard and general office equipment, and ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
