Who we are looking for / Requirements:
Lead and provide direction to a staff of commissioning team technicians and engineers, and be responsible for the development, management and implementation of the handover and commissioning strategy. This is a site based position and required relocation to Gum Springs (approximately 60 miles west of Little Rock, Arkansas). The project is under construction.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferably in Engineering, or Construction Management
20 plus years as a commissioning lead/manager or similar role on projects with TIC greater than $100MM. Prefers experience on the contract management with Industrial, Chemical, Oil & Gas projects
Ability to regularly communicate analyzed data to client and team to achieve project goals
Strong working knowledge of industrial drawings
Highly organized with strong analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients as well as external team members (architects, contractors, client's representatives, etc.).
Fully competent at managing a team of field engineers
A strong multi-discipline technical background and understanding of construction process paperwork handling, including but not limited to RFIs, Submittals, Change Issuances
Ability to regularly communicate contractual issues to client and team to achieve project goals
Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates superior presentation skills
Exhibits strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
Possesses excellent persuasion, negotiation and judgement skills
Knowledge of Google office management tools
Ideal candidate is an innovative but decisive individual who can work effectively in a highly collaborative, team-based environment and has the ability to set goals and expectations
What you will do / Responsibilities:
In this highly visible role, you'll be responsible for:
The position is highly visible to the corporate and some of responsibilities are provided below but not limited to:
Review handover requirements from the various contractors
Develop functional and acceptance test plans and execute tests for a wide variety of mechanical, electrical and instrument controls systems
Develop and or review startup plans, schedules and startup packages and track progress until completion
Lead the development of a detailed startup schedule based on the scheduled system commissioning dates per the project milestones
Proactively plan and coordinate sequence of system startup priorities
Coordinate with various vendors including ABB for Pre-Commissioning functional testing for the process mechanical, electrical and I&C systems
Review and participate in the development of pre-functional checklists
Coordinate functional test procedures and execute operational testing
Witness selected re-testing of systems that do not pass initial functional testing
Review content of equipment O & M Manuals for coordination and inclusion of testing activities
Coordinate, obtain and review vendor and contractor training documents
Maintain positive open communications and relationships with the project partners on startup issues
Monitor and report progress of test activities and generate commissioning related KPIs (for example: planned vs. executed, passed vs. failed tests)
Prepare and submit bi-weekly reports detailing commissioning plan, delays and execution status
Conduct system walk downs and generate punch lists
Ensure that all final project checkouts, sign offs and turnover documents are developed and schedule final turnover walkthroughs with members of the contractor and the project team
