Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Contract Position
2024-25 School Year
Hours per Week: Full-time; May/June - Consideration for part-time in-person paired with part-time virtual SLP
# of Schools/Ages: K-12, with a focus on pre-K to 4th grade
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the 2024-25 school year in the state of Illinois. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse caseload of approximately 45-46 students per SLP, with a total of 750 students across multiple schools. The majority of students fall within the pre-K to 4th grade range, with only a handful of older students needing related services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy services to a caseload of approximately 45-46 students
- Case manage 20 students directly, with others being case managed by additional providers
- Conduct assessments, develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and collaborate with educators and parents to support student progress
- Deliver services in both in-person and virtual settings, adapting to student needs and circumstances
- Address a variety of speech and language disorders and disabilities, tailoring interventions to meet individual student needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided and student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and collaborative planning sessions
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid Illinois state license or ability to obtain one
- ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations is advantageous
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
