Teleservice full time Sign Language Interpreter Job in Georgia

Position: School-Based Virtual Sign Language Interpreter (Independent Contractor - 1099)
Location:Georgia(Remote)

SLI Responsibilities:

• Facilitating communication between students who use American Sign Language (ASL) and their peers, teachers, and other school staff during virtual sessions.
• Providing real-time interpretation for classroom lessons, discussions, and school activities to ensure effective communication for students with hearing impairments.
• Collaborating with teachers and support staff to ensure an inclusive and accessible learning environment for students with hearing impairments.
• Assisting in translating written materials and resources into ASL when necessary.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential records of interpreted sessions.

SLI Requirements:

• EIPA > 3.5
• Teaching Certification in the state of Georgia
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of other communication modalities used by students with hearing impairments.
• Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school-based setting or providing virtual interpreting services is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students and staff.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable with virtual platforms for seamless interpreting sessions.
• Reliable internet connection and audio/video equipment for remote work.
